Stucco Repair in Central Florida

Stucco repair restores a cracked, holed, or water-damaged stucco wall to a sound, weather-tight, uniform finish. Across Lake County and Greater Orlando, Anicette Stucco repairs the exterior stucco on concrete-block homes and commercial buildings, sealing the damage, correcting the cause where water is involved, and matching the existing texture so the fix blends into the wall. We are insured, we have done this work in Central Florida for more than 15 years, and we start every job with a free on-site estimate.

What stucco repair covers

Exterior stucco repair covers the full range of ways a stucco finish fails in this climate:

  • Cracks- from thin hairline cracks to wider structural cracks that open along block joints or corners.
  • Holes and impact damage- from hardware, ladders, storms, or settling.
  • Water damage- staining, soft spots, and deterioration where moisture has gotten behind the finish.
  • Delamination and bubbling- where the stucco has lost its bond to the wall or a coating is lifting.
  • Texture and finish mismatch- old patches or repairs that never blended in.

Two problems share their own detailed pages because so many local searches ask about them specifically: stucco crack repair and stucco water damage repair. This page is the hub that ties the whole service together.

Repair or replace: how we decide

Not every wall needs a full redo, and not every crack is cosmetic. We decide based on why the stucco is failing, not just how it looks.

A repair is usually enough when the underlying wall is sound and the damage is limited to the finish coat: isolated cracks, a few holes, or a stained area with a clear, fixable source of water. Larger restoration or stucco remediation makes sense when moisture has spread behind the stucco, when delamination covers a large area, or when patch-on-patch repairs have failed repeatedly. We tell you which situation you are in and why, so you are not paying to replace a wall that only needed sealing, or patching a wall that needs more.

Where our work stops: cracks that need an engineer

One boundary is worth stating on the hub page rather than burying it. We repair stucco, including cracks caused by movement in the wall behind it. We do not diagnose or remedy structural problems in a building.

If a crack is wide and still moving, steps through the block courses, is mirrored on the inside of the house, or has arrived alongside doors and windows that no longer close properly, that is a structural engineer's question and it has to be answered before anyone puts material into the crack. Patching over live movement is money spent on something that will reopen. If we see those signs we will tell you to get an engineer, and we would rather lose the job than take it. Once the cause has been cleared or a remedy specified, repairing the stucco is our work again. The detail is on the stucco crack repair page.

What stucco repair costs in Central Florida

Stucco repair cost depends on the type and extent of the damage, how easy the wall is to reach, and whether waterproofing is involved. Small crack repairs sit at the low end; water-behind-stucco repairs that require opening and rebuilding the wall sit much higher. We keep the full breakdown, including typical per-square-foot and per-job ranges, on the stucco repair cost page. Every figure there is a typical market range, and your exact price comes from a free on-site estimate rather than a guess over the phone.

We examine the wall, work out why it failed, and look for the signs that water has gotten behind the finish. Where the full extent can only be known by opening the wall, we say so rather than guess.

Why stucco fails in Central Florida

Stucco is a hard, cement-based skin over a wall that moves. In this climate it is asked to do a great deal. Daily temperature swings expand and contract the block beneath it, humidity keeps walls from drying, and summer storms drive rain sideways into any seal, joint or crack that has opened. Add settlement in newer homes and decades of accumulated repairs in older ones, and you get the four failure modes we spend most of our time on: cracking, water intrusion, delamination, and finishes that have simply reached the end of their service life.

None of that is unusual, and none of it means your house is in trouble. It means stucco is a maintained surface rather than a permanent one, and the difference between a cheap repair and an expensive one is almost always how long the wall was left taking water.

Signs you need stucco repair

  • Cracks that widen, run diagonally from openings, or keep returningafter being patched.
  • Stainingbeneath windows or at corners, which usually means water is traveling inside the wall rather than running off it.
  • Soft, spongy or hollow-sounding stucco, which is a strong sign that moisture has gotten behind the finish.
  • Bubbling or peeling paint, which on stucco is more often moisture escaping than a coating defect.
  • Delamination, where the finish is lifting away from the wall in sheets or patches.

None of these is a diagnosis on its own. They are the signs that mean a wall is worth looking at rather than watching, and what is actually behind the finish is settled by looking, not by guessing from the outside.

Planning around the work

We give you a realistic schedule at the estimate rather than an optimistic one, and we tell you if weather is likely to move it. The timelines themselves, and what makes a job overrun, are set out in our guide to how long stucco repair takes.

How to choose a stucco contractor

Stucco is easy to make look right for a season and hard to make right for a decade, which is why the trade attracts quick fixes. Three questions separate a proper repair from a cover-up. Does the contractor explain why the wall failed, or only what they will patch? Do they look for signs of moisture behind the finish before quoting, or only at the surface? And can they show you texture-matched work, since a repair you can spot from the street is a repair that was not finished. If the answer to any of those is vague, keep looking.

Frequently asked questions

Something not covered here? Call (407) 456-2006 and ask.

Repair fixes the finish when the wall behind it is sound. Remediation addresses moisture problems behind the stucco and rebuilds the assembly, which is a larger job. We explain both on the stucco remediation page.

On most walls, yes. We rebuild the finish rather than filling and painting over it, so the repaired area reads as part of the wall rather than a smooth spot on it. On a heavily weathered or hand-worked finish, a repaint of the elevation is sometimes the only route to a fully uniform result.

Yes. We handle residential stucco repair and commercial stucco repair, scheduling commercial work to limit disruption.

Hairline cracks are often cosmetic, while cracks that are widening, following a pattern, or letting water in signal a deeper issue. We look at the wall and tell you which you have. Details are on the stucco crack repair page.

Yes, every estimate is free and on-site, with no obligation. Note that an estimate prices a repair; it is not the same as a formal stucco inspection, which is a specialist diagnostic service with a written report and is charged for accordingly.

Call us and we will give you a specific window rather than a vague one, and we will be straight with you if the forecast is likely to move it.

Repairing the cause, not the symptom

Almost every stucco repair that fails, fails for the same reason: someone treated the crack as the problem. A crack is rarely the problem. It is the wall telling you about the problem, which might be settlement, might be a drainage issue sending water where it should not go, might be a failed seal above it, or might be moisture that has been sitting behind the finish for two seasons. Seal the crack and leave the cause, and the wall will simply crack again, usually within a year and usually slightly wider.

That is why our estimates take longer than a tape measure and a number. We want to know why this wall, in this position, has done this. Sometimes the answer is simple settlement and the fix is exactly the seal-and-match everyone expects. Sometimes the answer is that your downspout has been emptying against the wall for five years. Those are very different jobs, and only one of them is fixed by stucco.
